Richard Cross in California, USA. 60 when diagnosed on January 1, 1998. Initial PSA was 5.1 ng/ml, Gleason Score 3+3=6 and staged T1c. Choice of treatment Active Surveillance.

Cancer and Active Surveillance (AS) the journey that consists of research, decisions and life.

Richard Cross

DOB 4/6/1936

Height 65"

Weight 1967=200lbs. 1990=175lbs.2000=160lbs.2008=145lbs.

Occupation: 25 years, Air Traffic Controller; retired 1992.

1989 Throat cancer stage 4 was discovered and thought incurable.

As an Air Traffic Controller working in a small control room with 5 controllers that smoked while working resulted in throat cancer for this nonsmoker. Surgery, radiation and chemotherapy saved my life.

1992 Retired from the Federal Aviation Administration.

I like my oncologist as he tells it as it is. He knows that I am a student of prostate cancer and read yananow as well as other articles as they become available. We discussed options as well as outcomes and we agree that the cancer cure rate is small and that the side effects can be more devastating than the cancer.

Our joint understanding is that we will revisit PSA and DRE next year; he is supportive of my position (AS).

WW continues:

This year I am chelating with DMSA and using PC-Hope (formerly PC-Spes); all of which is in addition to my previously stated meds.

Next update will be 2013

UPDATE 2013:

All is as it has been plus the 2012 additions shown above.

Result is all I could ask for; PSA 4.2.

I started taking baking soda at the rate of one level teaspoon twice per day back in July 2012; my pH is holding at 7.25; I believe this addition to my daily routine is in part responsable for the reduction in PSA to 4.2.

I have changed the time at which I consume my MJ from dinner to 11:00pm; it allows me to return to sleep much more easily after using the restroom during the night.

1/1/2013 PSA 4.2. Two of 15 biopsy cores = Gleason 6.

I enrolled into two programs while at UCSF, San Francisco.

#1 = diet: vegetarian, I have been vegetarian for 10 years.

#2 = exercise: I work out 5 days per week for 45 minutes at a time and play tennis 8 hours per week.

My plan of attack on cancer is not to cure but to create a hostile environment where cancer does not flurish.

I have added another supplement; one that I found on YouTube by Tony Pantelleresco.

One teaspoon try sodium phosphate and two tablespoons chlorophyll added to a quart of reverse osmoses water; consume 1 1/2 oz. two times per day; to fight cancer.
A side effect;after one year of this my white hair is very slowly returning to brown.

06.01.2015 6.30 01.09.14
Blood work results returned today; all numbers were NORMAL and PSA has settled back to 4.0; 4.0 is the best number that I could ask for. I have changed my self-treatment very little over the years. Diet and exercise are my main line of defense.

01/01/2016
Blood work = normal in all areas. PSA = 5.9.
Numbers continue to be acceptable.

01.01.2016 5.90 01.01.16
All numbers from blood work are in the normal range; PSA = 5.9 is acceptable.
